Spring Fishing

Here we are again . It is March and the Kingfish run has started! I think this year the fish are a little confuse with the extreme warm temps in Feb and now it has cooled down again.  But none the less we have been catching a few Kings up to 27 lbs so far. We have been catching Lots and lots of nice size spanish mackerels . We have been catching so many of them that we have been throwing them back.  The Kingfishing should get better and better in the next few weeks. On the bottom scene, we have been catching red groupers on the 8 to 10 hr charters. It has been a long ride out to have a chance at getting into them but it has paid off. I have been hitting them pretty good so far, catches from 8 to 12 keepers per trip. On the 6 hr charters we have been catching a fair share of Hog fish this year. With the hogs come many grunts and porgies. Some Blackfin tunas and sharks should wondering by in the next few weeks . Who can resist some fresh sushi !                  Tight lines Capt Tom
